PilotLog is our number one recommendation simply as it is the most straight forward solution to logging and printing your flight records. Your PilotLog entries can easily be printed into your very own Aileron personalised Pilot Logbook. Don't have enough entries for a full book?
For this reason, what is the best pilot logbook app?
Electronic logbooks are nothing new, but LogTen Pro X has really set the benchmark. It's one of the most powerful logbook apps on the market, and can completely replace paper logbooks from a legal standpoint. This self-contained iPad app syncs automatically via The Cloud.
Somehow, are pilots required to keep a logbook? (1) A person may log training time when that person receives training from an authorized instructor in an aircraft, full flight simulator, flight training device, or aviation training device. ... (3) A sport pilot must carry his or her logbook or other evidence of required authorized instructor endorsements on all flights.
Finally, how do you fix a pilot logbook?
The correct, FAA-accepted procdure for correcting or making changes to an official Flight Log (or aircraft logbook) is to cross out the previous entry with a SINGLE line, initial the cross-out and enter the new data.

FOREFLIGHT LOGBOOK. Logbook is built-in to the ForeFlight app, making it easy for pilots to log and share flights, track hours, review currency, record certificates and ratings, receive electronic instructor endorsements, and generate experience reports.
“When you're opening the flight deck door, you've got a good idea who you're operating with, for example,” says BA pilot Spencer Norton. Before heading to the plane, pilots use the iPads to check for operational alerts: a strike in Europe closing an airport, or a memo about deicing in winter conditions.
Many people use White Out or Green Out to correct their logbook and that is fine too. Some people don't like white out, but I've been using it almost 9 years and never had a problem getting a job or rating. Don't have your flight instructor rewrite each entry. That is actually illegal.
ForeFlight. ForeFlight is probably one of the most popular apps out there. ...
Garmin Pilot. For those Android users out there, or someone looking for an alternative to ForeFlight, Garmin Pilot offers many of the same features as ForeFlight. ...
Pilot-in-command time may be logged by a safety pilot if acting as PIC. The two pilots must agree that the safety pilot is the acting PIC. PIC time may be logged only while the other pilot is "under-the-hood."
In a 2009 FAA Letter of Interpretation to Mr. Scott Nichols, the FAA clarifies that when a second pilot is not required under Part 91, they CANNOT log SIC time. However, they CAN still log PIC time when they're the sole manipulator of the controls.
The regulation sets out the information, at a minimum, of what to log for training and aeronautical experience. That is, the FARs say you must log date, flight time, departure and arrival airport(s), aircraft make and model and identification, and the name of the safety pilot, if required.
The entry must include a description of the training given and the lesson's length. And the entry must be endorsed "in a legible manner" with the CFI's signature, and flight instructor certificate number and its expiration date.
The iPad 10.2″ (good), iPad Air 10.5″ (better) and the iPad Pro 11″ (best) feature nearly the same external dimensions and pilots will find that all three work very well with nearly every aviation app available.
