Soft-sided cooler designed to fit in tight places; ideal for ski boats, fishing boats, off-road vehicles, and RVs
Guaranteed to hold ice for 24 hours in 120 degree weather; 38-can capacity plus 14 pounds of ice
This is a great boat and a good value. I've had it inshore and 45 miles offshore in some nasty weather conditions. It offers a surprisingly dry ride and handles well. ... If you are looking for a new boat, you'd be foolish not to look at Sportsman before making a final decision.
1. Colder longer – Expensive coolers have a higher quality of insulation and thicker walls for preserving the ice in most cases about 2x longer than most low-cost coolers. However, it is important that you pre-chilling the cooler first with ice a day before you need the cooler.
In our Five Day Ice Challenge (video below) the Pelican ProGear Elite 45 Q cooler outperformed the Yeti Tundra 45. ... The new Pelican IM Elite is up to 30% lighter than its predecessor making it comparable to the Yeti. One of the biggest differences you'll see between the two coolers is the latch system.
Yeti coolers are great coolers. They are super strong, can keep ice for 5-7 days and have an average customer rating of 4.6/5 stars. Yeti basically created the high-end roto-moulded cooler market. Before Yeti coolers would keep ice for a maximum of 2 days and would break if you sat on them.
The Rubbermaid Ice Chest Cooler was the worst-performing cooler we tested. The disposable Lifoam cooler that cost $4 (white) would arguably be a better pick. ... It's a few quarts smaller than the Rubbermaid, but the design has a drain and a lid latch, and it's much, much better at keeping things cold.
Yes, cooler color does impact ice retention times, but not as much as many may be inclined to think. We have now tested color variations of four different cooler manufacturers (Kong, Siberian, Grizzly & Engel). In the most extreme case, a white cooler held ice for half a day longer than a grey or darker counterpart.
Coleman Coolers are designed more for people on a budget who are looking for a simple cooler that can meet their needs for a weekend trip to the lake or a tailgate. They have found a happy medium between performance, toughness, and asking price. Of course, some Coleman Coolers do bump this up a notch.
For three people on a day trip, a 40-quart cooler is generally fine. For the same group on a weekend camping trip, a 50- to 60-quart cooler is good. Try not to buy a cooler that is too large, as tightly packed coolers keep food colder and longer.
Build Construction. Ozark Trail coolers are tougher than Lifetime coolers because they are roto-molded whereas Lifetime coolers are blow-molded. What this means is that Ozark Trail coolers have a thicker plastic shell, making them more durable and harder to break.
While this isn't quite as high as we have seen in other premium coolers, the much lower asking price helps to justify it. For most people, being able to keep ice for 3 days or more is plenty. And it makes Ozark Trail Coolers great for any weekend outing.
Yeti tumbler cups are expensive because Yeti's branding means people are willing to pay the higher price. They are dishwasher safe (no other brands are), extremely durable and insulate well, but they don't insulate better than competing brands. You mainly pay a premium for the YETI logo.
On a glassed in stringer only the sides are bonded to the hull, the way Sportsman does it bonds the entire base of the stringer to the hull then the stringer is foam filled making it a solid piece. The stuff they bond them with will never separate.
